My heart will always gravitate towards anything textured and rattan is no exception (the textiles student lives on!). Rattan has such a special way of bringing that tactile element into a space without being overpowering or garish. The natural colour lends itself to the scandi trend that only seems to evolve overtime.
There are so many ways to add rattan into your space, the examples above are some of my favourites, from dining chairs to lampshades, sides tables to mirrors, super simple practical ways to inject that texture into your home.
Layered with fabrics and colours you can create an inviting cosy space ready to curl up in during the colder months, then, in the warmer months simply strip back, lighten up the colours and create a light relaxing ambiance for the ultimate summer chill out.
Rattan was a really popular material in the 70's which means you don't have to break the bank to get your hands on some really beautiful pieces, charity and second hand shops are a gold mine for pieces like these with an added story attached. When we can get back out there, keep your eyes open for those special finds and let me know what you get your hands on!
